MADISON (May 16, 2007) . . . Eleven building projects have been recognized for excellence in architectural design by the 2007 Design Awards program of AIA Wisconsin, the state society of The American Institute of Architects (AIA).

From an inviting transformation of a worship area to a nature pavilion in a quiet clearing, a private wooded residence to an urban apartment/office building lobby, and a health science center with advanced technology to an ecology center, the award-winning projects are being honored for their creative, innovative and environmentally sensitive design solutions. The common thread among all eleven projects is that they were designed by architect members of AIA Wisconsin. A jury of nationally distinguished architects from outside Wisconsin selected the award-winning projects. Members of the 2007 Design Awards jury were: Christine Carlyle, AIA, Chicago: Ken M. Tse, AIA, Dallas ; and Richard L. Kobus, AIA, Cambridge , Massachusetts .

“Some projects were very simple, yet the architects brought their own level of sophistication to the solution ,” commented this year's Design Awards jury.
