Submit your AIA Wisconsin member-designed projects . . . the more the
better. Wisconsin Architect wants to hear from all firms. Projects
should have been completed within the last two years . . . or be expected
to be completed by the time of publication.
AIA Wisconsin Design Awards submittals automatically are submitted
to Wisconsin Architect for possible publication. Firms do not
need to submit separate material to the magazine if the project is part
of the competition.
To aid in preparing submittals for Wisconsin Architect magazine,
please attempt to follow these criteria:
- A concise one-page project statement (100 - 300
words) describing the Owner's program, site description including any
significant physical parameters and factual statement of the design
solution. Tell the story of the project . . . not the architect.
- Drawings showing: Floor Plan(s), Site Plan or Building
Diagrams (where informative).
- High quality images (3 - 4) showing an exterior
view that reasonably describes the project and an interior photo where
appropriate. Photographs of project with people to show the design in
use are encouraged.
NOTE: It is important that you obtain permission from the photographer
to publish his/her photographs in Wisconsin Architect and
for other publicity in the interest of the profession. Photo credit
will be published when provided. We are unable to assume responsibility
to pay any fee to the photographer for the reproduction and /or use
of his/her photographs, slides and other graphics. By making a submission,
you are certifying that such permission has been obtained.
- A Project Identification summary should include:
- Project: Name, Location
- Architect: Name, Location
- Owner: Name, Location
- General Contractor: Name, Location
- Photographer: Name
The name of the architect is not to
appear anywhere else in the submitted material.
- Electronic files on CD-ROM representing all text
(in Microsoft Word or compatible/editable format) including project
statement, project identification and drawings, photographs and plans
included in the submission. Image files should be minimum 300 dpi and
8 " x 10 " (color = approx. 28 M; grayscale = approx. 7 M)
or equivalent saved as tifs.
- Please submit a complete list of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
Include in this list their name, address, phone number, email and contact
if available. Please encourage these key people to advertise in Wisconsin
