Back in 1911, a small group of Wisconsin architects with a vision for the future of their profession and state formally established the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. This year, reflecting our member’s commitment to this vision, AIA Wisconsin – the state society of the American Institute of Architects – is celebrating 100 years of leadership in creating better places to live, work and play through design and advocacy.

We hope you will join us in supporting our centennial celebration!

How We're Celebrating

We are planning a variety of activities to not only celebrate what our members have accomplished over the past 100 years, but also demonstrate the power of architecture to enhance our communities in the future.

Anniversary activities will include:

  • Highlighting buildings that contribute significantly to Wisconsin’s rich architectural heritage

  • Collaborating with teachers to bring architects into classrooms and increase student awareness of how architecture shapes our environment and local communities

  • Coordinating a statewide competition to encourage high school students to design their own “green” school Details

  • Sponsoring educational programs and public lectures on important emerging architectural topics and issues, and

  • Contributing to the vitality, sustainability and livability of our own hometowns through community service.
